We are Inside Out Theatre Company
Our aim is to bring theatre to the street and entertain a public, which may not go to the theatre. Our object is to captivate and involve the audience within an interactive performance; to induce laughter and to show that street theatre is a major living culture form, of great value to people and the community.
Our workshops create content & opportunities for people with disabilities to both perform & watch, breaking down the barriers to participation within the arts. We are committed to diversity & inclusivity in the arts because if you can’t see yourself represented, it’s hard to see yourself as a professional performer
.Our Creative team are committed to promoting opportunities, a visible space that opens a door to an inclusive community.
Street theatre is accessible and encourages a connection between audience and performer it brings communities together.

Jamie joined Active Arts comedy & drama (taught by Anthony) and musical theatre classes in 2018. His performing talent was evident from the moment he started and it wasn’t long before Jamie was taking part in Inside Out workshops and performing in his first street shows with members of Active Arts.
Jamie was inspired to take his comedy acting career further and stood firm in the possibility of one day working as a professional street performer and creating a show with Anthony.
Jamie created our new street show Anything You Can Do – A Tale of Two Men with Anthony and has performed as a member of Inside Out Theatre Company at Streets of Wealden, St Leonards Festival and Sidley Festival. Jamie says that performing has made him feel more confident, he wants to keep going until the show is perfect!

Techniques covered - Improvisation, clowning, mime, play, character development and devising skills
Language and social skills covered – speaking and listening, giving and owning ideas, responding to others, receiving, giving and following direction; physicality and use of appropriate language/gestures, group work, team building, negotiation and decision making.
Our workshops can be adapted for different age groups, needs and abilities. The workshop programme uses improvisation, clowning, mime & storytelling. These allow participants to make choices & decisions, to develop their own ideas, quickly turning participants into performers:
